Advanced Automotive Battery Conference Europe

February 2-3, 2010 - Rheingoldhalle Congress Centrum, Mainz, Germany

AABC Europe 2010 – Highlights

Undaunted by snowy weather, over 600 attendees from 32 countries gathered for this premier European advanced automotive batteries conference in Mainz, Germany held at the Rhinegoldhalle from February 2 - 5, 2010. Top European automotive energy-storage technologists from all major car companies and their three tiers of energy-storage suppliers convened for dynamic discussion focusing on the technological development and market opportunities for lithium-ion and other battery systems in advanced battery and advanced automotive applications. Optimistic sales predictions for electric vehicles were challenged, and a more conservative EV and PHEV market trend posited; with concerns regarding advanced battery safety, reliability, durability and cost addressed. Networking events, which included 44 exhibitors, provided a lively environment for discussion and business opportunities outside the conference sessions.

The four-day conference also included a nanotechnology workshop, and followed a one-day Haus der Technik symposium in the same venue.
